Intern I'm working with is kicking my ass, any of you experienced this?
So I got assigned a graduate intern here at my firm (we just started working from the office) and this kid is a lot better at my job than I am, it almost feels like I am living in a sketch from the office when I think about how ridiculous the situation is.
He finishes every single task so quickly and efficiently I don't have anything to give him most times and even had to tell him to slow TF down. Which just makes him shadow me by watching my screen and seeing what I am up to. I now feel like I can even cheekily browse WSO, Reddit or look at instagram models on my phone. I can almost feel him breathing down my neck every second.
To make matters funnier this guy eats lunch at his desk for 5 minutes tops while I slack off for at least an hour outside. I now feel like I have to cut my lunch breaks short before the MDs start to notice my absence.
He's a good guy,I'm not trying to bash him, he just makes me realize I am just a lazy asshole.
Have any of you ever felt pressured by an intern before?
Simple - hold a meeting with your fellow analysts, lie that he made an inappropriate joke to you, or grabbed your down there and for that reason, you don't think he would be a good "fit" for your team. He doesn't get hired, and you don't have to worry about him dethroning you one day and taking your job.
Plz don't actually do this...
I am currently in big 4 audit and he has dreams of being a banker, hope it comes true. He's too good for this position i mean that unironically.
please PM me his contact details. always looking for gunners that can help us and a WSO internship surprisingly opens doors (don't ask me why, but my guess is curiosity factor :-)
This is in Australia isn’t it

Big 4 Audit. That explains it.
If I were you, I’d do everything in my power to help him get a job in IB by acting as a good reference and maybe make connections to professionals in banking. People with that type of work ethic almost always end up successful. That’s a useful long term relationship. It’s also the right thing to do lol.
Yeah exactly
Similar here. I am working FT and an intern who arrived not a long time ago completely rocks. We are also actually becoming friends, so I would definitely want this person to work with me.
As another fellow user said above me, it is great to act as a mentor for him/her. It can definitely be beneficial in the future.
Sounds like me back in college (the intern). Had a very similar situation with my boss. Worked out well for both of us.
Lol. Stfu
Weird flex.
Feel lucky - the weight of someone dragging ass is way worse when you have to correct all their work and teach them and do all your regular work.
You discovered the hardo.
Anyone remember Taylor as the intern on Billions? Pretty good portrayal of the rise of the intern - lol. Mafee knew from the start she was better than him.
fuck his girl
^If there's any helpful advice on this thread, it's this one
Don't forget to pee on her to show dominance.
Make sure you're nice to him, he'll probably be your boss one day, lol.
Do you have a passion project? get him in on that.
This is a genuinely good suggestion. Keep him close, poach him for your start up later on.
This just make me suck! You shouldn’t judge a book by its cover!
Is she a girl? Hookup with her.
This
Hire the intern and fire you
I second this
