Is Community Service Essential for MBA?
Title says it. People here seem emphasize a lot on GPA and GMAT. How important is experience for MBA candidates? Thanks!

In my experience, community service and other extracurriculars are negatively correlated in importance with the hours you work. Longer hours, you can get away with light extracurriculars (volunteering once in a while or member of a club/nonprofit). 40 hours a week, then you better be using your freetime wisely (sit on a nonprofit/young professionals board, lead a service initiative, etc.)
The only time community service is essential is when it's court mandated
