Is my Associate Lying to me?
Last week it was “my wife is in the hospital with a bad case of monkey pox… need you to run with this.” The other day he told me his share drive was down and told the other analyst that he was busy working with me. And this morning, “my house caught on fire in the middle of the night, so I won’t be in today - need you to knock these out.”
Seems way too far fetched in my opinion, but with these being quite lackluster situations I feel like I can’t call him out on it just on the off chance he’s telling the truth. What do y’all think is my associate lying to me? Should I take action?
For context, this process we are on together is a complete shit show: seniors from my group and 3 product groups are blasting comments like a Somalian warlord dumping mag on a cargo ship in the Mediterranean - and unfortunately I am the only guy on the ship.
Yea he's lying and jumping ship or has the worst luck in the world.
Play into it and buy him very very specific gifts that would only match his stories to make him feel bad. Like buy him a smoke detector or something 😂
Bump, in the same situation
As I’m sitting in the fire insurance office trying to retrieve the little value that my Houston Heights house is worth. I stumble upon this website. The good old website I used to worship when I was a meek summer analyst. The first thing I see is a ridiculous post that seems to be mocking the unfortunate situations that have unfolded in my life in 2025. As my wife coughs on me as she still hasn’t recovered from Monkey Pox - I feel rage overtake my body. This rage is all directed towards the worthless analyst under me who has singlehanded been killing the deal. I hate it break it to you, but it’s not that hard to align logos you pig energy analyst. Good luck ever making it back to zip lines.
Indian Ocean, plz fix, thx.
Sure but Mediterranean sounds more dice and it serves as a better metaphor for the client (think maritime olive oil shipping co)
Relax, OP. Cover for him and lend a hand—you never know, he might return the favor.
He put in his 2 weeks on Friday
There's your answer. It's kinda a dick way to go out IMO. As a general rule of thumb, don't burn bridges. I've gotten help from people I could've fucked over in the past but didn't. Your reputation precedes you.
