Is working in this industry really akin to being a professional athlete?

I doubt there's many on this forum that have experience in both, but what about others who may have been D1 athletes in college?

Is it easy to get burned out?  Could pushing yourself be detrimental to your physical/mental health?

Can you equate tough coaches with tough PMs?  

I'm trying to figure out whether I belong in this field but it's when someone brought up the analogy of pro athlete that reminded me it's a privilege to even have this choice.
