Laptop

Gonna be a Freshman in college next year, currently using school issued computer so need to buy a laptop before next fall. Is thinkpad a good laptop for using excel and other finance related stuff? What are other good laptops within $600-800 range? Thx

Think pads are the best I want the think station. Check the links below for what I am going to get. Think pads have the best key boards and girls are genuinely impressed with them bc they look great. Think about if a girl came into your nyc apt and she sees your personal think pad, a think station with two think monitors, a think pad work phone and beats studios hanging up next to your list of enemies with their emails next to them so you can update them every time you get promoted or invited to a dinner with great people

Dell XPS is also a good choice. Higher quality than think pads, in my opinion, but priced higher.

Dont get a mac book lol, was my biggest mistake. Excel shortcuts are not the same on mac books. Any windows laptop is fine unless u plan on running 3 excel files, 30 chrome tabs, and some other stuff

Avoid macs, gaming laptops surprisingly good for finance work, would take Lenovo over Dell way more reliable, most windows laptops are good enough now wouldnt worry about it much

If ure gonna be making a lot of finance models or running software just make sure u have a good processor and school wifi usually sucks so a good wifi card
