Laptop to 2 Monitors

Hi Everyone!

(Hi Doctor Nick!)...

So, I have a laptop with 3 USB ports, one HDMI port.  I have 2 monitors.  I have a thinkpad dock, but my laptop is not thunderbolt or USB-C compatable.

For the love of god, how do I connect them all to get a "3 screen" setup.  Please, no answers that require the purchase of anything over like $30.

You can do what Addinator said but I find HDMI splitters to be a bit hit or miss (plus if it breaks you're completely fucked instead of half fucked)

You're better off buying a USB to HDMI convertor (amazon it, plenty of options $10)

Laptop HDMI > HDMI Cable from Laptop to monitor

Laptop USB > USB to HDMI Convertor > HDMI Cable from Laptop into monitor

good HDMI cables will run you ~$10 each if you don't already have them, convertor ~$8-$15 (with tech I am a big believer you get what you pay for).

Remember to go into settings and change it from "duplicate" to "extend".

Hope this helps
