Lessons you learned starting your own business

I know some people have started businesses on here. What lessons do you feel you have learned and has learning from your mistakes enabled you to increase revenues/profits/customer base?

If you take entrepreneurship seriously, in many cases, you might end up working almost IB-like hours, but at least you do it for yourself alone, and that's the catch; it's a very lonely path, even if you have employees.
