Logos on clothes, are they inconspicuous or conspicuous.
I'm talking about mid tear fashion (Brooks Brothers, Ralph Lauren, LL Bean, Patagonia, etc) whenever I'm shopping many clothes have these logos on their chest.
My question is do you guys think logos are a bit tacky? or does it depend on who wears it.. Do people see them and think "oh is he trying to show off, show that he is shopping at big named brands".
I don't think LL Bean and Patagonia are conspicuous since the logos are pretty iconic but the other logos make me feel like I'm walking over people when they're very visible.
Am i over thinking it?
I like no logo pieces and that's kinda hard when you're a loyal customer to certain brands who have thrived by having a logo on their clothes for decades.
Do you guys not give af, lmk
Imo, no logo is best and highlights yourself before anything else. It's also just a clean look. Physically fit + no logo is the way
I know you mention brands like LL bean and Patagonia...so an extreme example here, but I've lately thought a lot about "silent flex" > "active flex". Now in my mid-late 20s, my peers have $ and it's interesting watching how they spend and display it. Active flex = something like wearing a gucci logo t shirt. Super tacky and follows the thinking of "if you have to tell someone you have money, you don't have that much money"
I like the "silent flex" term, I will start using that approach since I'm growing out of logos
Silent flex is always the move. If you know, you know.
Polo logo is fine, assuming rest of outfit and shoes are normal.. I draw the line at the jumbo sized polo logo shirts
Absolutely anything with a giant polo logo reminds me of Chief Keef stans or cartel boys
lol mid ‘tear’ fashion 😂😂😂 bahaha
Its not high fashion brosaiah I'm not gonna call it that
what would you call it
mid ‘tier’ fashion
nvm i see my mistake haha
Tbh I don’t really care. If someone is shallow I’ll know that before I see the clothes that they wear.
That being said, I do love a good small logo in the corner. Sometimes even as a sign that “this guy cares about how he comes across, he’s a finance bro and should be sound” haha
No logos/brands > small logos > huge logos
Personally I don't like most and I'm not drawn by brands per se. Drawn by quality, fit, materials etc. I also don't like to do publicity to any brand, even if I'm a nobody (as in not a movie or sports star or influencer). In my view, more than tacky, they have a connotation I am not aligned with. So I avoid them, where possible.
That said, it is not always easy to find clothes (affordable or many times high-end) without them.
Without the logo the clothing has little value.
