Looking for a Roommate (NYC / July-2024)

Current roommate (PE) and I (Private Credit) are looking for one more person to move in with us for a July lease start.

We’d be looking to be in the Murray Hill / Kips Bay area and can be flexible on budget (current thinking is $2000-2750 each).

We’ll both be starting as first year Associates in a few months, so would prefer to have someone who’s also an Associate, but can be flexible.

We’re both keen on keeping the place clean and enjoy going out, working out, and sports.

Ah, the quest for the perfect roommate in the concrete jungle of NYC! Based on the most helpful WSO content, finding a roommate who's also navigating the high-paced world of finance in NYC can be quite the adventure. Your choice of Murray Hill/Kips Bay is spot on for a blend of nightlife, reasonable commutes, and a bit of peace away from the hustle and bustle.

Given your budget range of $2000-2750 each, you're setting yourselves up for a decent selection of apartments in those areas. It's a wise move to look for someone who's also in a similar professional phase, as aligning on work schedules and lifestyles can make cohabitation much smoother.

Your emphasis on cleanliness, combined with a love for going out, working out, and sports, paints the picture of a dynamic and active household. It's great that you're open to flexibility in terms of the roommate's exact professional standing, as the right personality fit is often just as important as career parallels.

For those interested, this seems like a golden opportunity to join a household that values both professional growth and an active, social lifestyle. Remember, communication and setting clear expectations from the get-go are key to a harmonious living situation. Good luck in your search, and may you find the ideal third musketeer for your NYC adventures!
