Modafinil
Has any one tried Modafinil or Ritalin to cope with the IB hours?
A few of the guys on my course swear on Modafinil for the run up to finals. Studies show it can allow you to concentrate and perform at much higher levels even if you are only getting 4 hours sleep a night. Whats everyones thoughts? I am worried if there are any long term side effects, or if this sort of stuff is frowned upon in the IB world. Personally if it can give you that edge and help you cope with the hours I am quite tempted to give it a shot.
I use modafinil for an actual sleeping disorder, and it's like caffeine without the jittery feeling...makes you feel (relatively) rested without the sleep. I use it as sparingly as possible, though, because it is a powerful drug...I do not like to mess with my health if I can help it.
I've heard stories of coke usage.
But definitely know plenty of bankers take adderall... as if banking isn't already bad for your health.
Personally, I wouldn't use it simply because if you don't have it at a critical time, then what?
keep clean of the drugs. your body will thank you for it later.
