Most Prestigious Military Uniforms Ever?
Here are some of my top contenders:
- Third Reich Wehrmacht (Stylish helmets, gun-gray uniforms, overall shape and aesthetics)
- Third Reich SS (Wehrmacht but in black and without the Stahlhelm)
- Post-Marian Reforms Roman Legionary Uniforms (For a brief period of time, the majority of legionnaires had lorica segmentata, which wasn't replicated until well into the dark ages)
- Winged Hussars (Amazing ornaments and overall look)
- British Empire Infantry Regulars (Redcoats are one of the most iconic uniforms in history, inspires nearly as much terror as Roman legions)
- Parthian Cataphracts (Looked better than Byzantine and other later cataphracts, because of the homogenous colors and materials)
- Teutonic Knights (Looked better than other orders such as the Templars or Hospitallers owing to their color scheme and helmet ornaments)
Maybe not historically but in pop culture, spartans are up there with the whole 300 thing. Samurai as well.
