Most Social Jobs in Finance

Topic is pretty self explanatory. Which jobs in finance are the most social, especially at the mid to senior levels? I’m assuming VC will be a common answer, and roles in hedge funds/public markets investing will not be very social, but I’d love to hear people’s thoughts.

Also, outside of the job responsibilities themselves, are there particular personality traits (extrovert/introvert, etc.) you notice about people who are especially successful in certain areas of finance/investing?

Some of my friends at our prime bank are in PWM and they seem to have a blast. They make similar comp to me, work about 20 hours less a week than I do, and are consistently posting photos of them with UHNW individuals partying. It makes sense - IMO, PWM is a service to provide comfort, safety, and feeling 'pampered'. This isn't to diss the sector whatsoever, it's just the way it is.

All in all, they seem to have a much... let's say, smoother work experience than I do. That's okay - it's the field I entered into! Sometimes I get envious of them when I open FB and see a photo of them on a yacht, and then I look back at my computer to see an incoming call from lawyers at 2am. F I N A N C E !

A lot of them are at JPM in the DC branch of PWM. While I won't disclose specifics, I know they do a lot of money managing for congresspeople and senators. They haven't told me everything (as they like their jobs), but the number of kickbacks the people in our government get is insane. I can't imagine having full access to managing their bank accounts, some pretty wild stuff in there - on both sides.

I would have to think PWM, Sales in IB, or VC
