Moving Within the City

Has anyone had positive experiences with any specific moving companies? I'm planning on moving in the next few months from the financial district to midtown, so would appreciate any advice on companies. Also, for a one bedroom with furniture (couch, bed, desk, bookcase), any estimates on prices? I would have to contact most of the NY firms directly for pricing and was just wondering range, so was hoping someone had a recent example.

About a year and a half ago, my wife and I used flat rate movers to move from the financial district to the UWS. It cost like 450, they wrapped all the furniture, padded everything, moved my 42 in LCD etc. The guys were friendly there was no breakages and its a guaranteed price. They did a great job and I would recommend them.

I also just recently used Shleppers for an out of state moved where they packed everything, provided the boxes etc and in 3 hours all my shit was on a truck headed out of state without me doing anything.

About a year ago, I moved a studio's worth of furniture (desk, bed, couch, chairs)... It came to about $240 all inclusive. ibanker26, I would suggest haggling a set price in advance vs. an hourly rate, because there's usually a lot of unforeseen crap that comes along and a quote of 4 hours really becomes 8. For what you have, you can probably get away with $200.
