My associate is super hot

She was a senior analyst this summer, but she'll be an associate when I start FT. God damn she's hot af. She was a literal model when she was in college (a rival school at that). Obviously I'd never ask her out (I mean she's hot but I'm not interested in her) but God damn she's hot.

sour grapes fable

Love these posts because I can relevantly chime in with that time I hooked up with a model-turned-analyst-turned ~principal (when she brought in an important deal for our small (at the time) firm).

There’s a type of guy/girl for who your hot associate would risk an office romance/hook up. You’re either that type or you’re not. And if you’re not, it’s up to you to decide whether becoming that type is worth it.

We found each other attractive, and crossed each others bid/ask spread in terms of what we wanted from a partner at the time.

I don’t think there was much “leading on,” but it was a while back and I have the benefit of controlling the narrative (since I’m the one writing this, and now her). I’m sure if I had my bro group chats archived you’d see some high school-level nonsense.

Let's define your "like" in this context as an attempt to have sexual intercourse with her.

I know, I'm horrible.

Zero: Telling people your Associate is hot as fuck.

One: Saying she is hot but you are not into her.

Two: So you are not into her although she is hot.

Three: There must be something about her (like she vomits twice in the office on a daily basis) that it is so off-putting because the general assumption is straight men love hot women.

Four: Maybe there is something about you so that you just don't like her (for example, you are gay. Nothing wrong with that)

Five: if neither 3 nor 4 is true, I'm just perplexed.
