My MBB offer was deferred until February

  1. How likely is this to actually be a one-time thing?

  2. WTF should I do? What would you do if you were free for the next 8 months unexpectedly and needed to find some sort of work? Considering trying to find a good 1-year master's degree, but rolling apps means it'll be impossible to get funding even if I get in. Also considering an RAship or fall internship. Just need gainful employment and to be out of the house.

I'm sorry to hear, but this is actually fine in the context of your offer getting potentially rescinded due to COVID. I would say that #1 is likely just dependent on the extent of the pandemic which hopefully will continue tapering and you can start. Just remember you are in a very necessary pipeline of undergrad hires which the firm needs every year so its not like they'll fully axe your class.

For your second part, can't help you but make that money and sustain until the job starts whatever it takes (unless you have family money). The masters doesn't make sense given the timing so take time to just earn and maybe learn a new skill / subject or just meditate on the new job and figure out if there's something you can preempt prior to starting with you newfounded time

You could knock out a solid score on the GMAT

I'm super stressed about it getting rescinded. I basically need to move out of my house ASAP (by September) so i don't go crazy but to do that need gainful employment that requires me to work in person. Ideas? What industries or regions do you think will start being back in office in the fall?
