I'm currently sitting in the live course in NYC. Figured in my boredom maybe I could provide some nuggets of knowledge.
1. If you have any base understanding of financial modeling and just want a refresher, don't take the class. It goes painfully slow.
2. The instructor is actually pretty legit, really like the guy and he knows what he is talking about. He just has to teach it like there are people who have never seen a model before, which i'd say is probably 50% of the class.
3. If your firm is making you do this (cough), bring a nook/kindle.
Is the course worth it for someone coming from a non-finance background who is just interested in learning modeling?
