NBA GM
What job do you think could lead to an NBA front office job or a GM role? I was thinking a statistics role with the way sports rely on them heavily nowadays.

Consulting has seen a few people
lead to FO jobs and along sports agents. STEM type people also prob are a good fit but you might need to get a lower level job in analytics or smth and work your way up.
If you have been paying attention, being a sports agent can get you there - Leon Rose, Rob Pelinka, and Bob Myers were all agents. Or you can be some sort of socialite or high profile person in the sports world, for example Worldwide Wes or the new Mavs GM was an exec at Nike.
You have to be a top tier sports agent
I think the most reliable way is probably with a statistics background. Know a few kids (from top ivy/stem schools) who landed analytics type jobs at various MLB/NBA/NFL teams. I have to imagine giving the rise of statistics in sports, being a top performer here is probably the most reliable way of working your way up in an organization. Much more predictable route than trying to be an agent or whatever else.
Saw a Nike exec get a front office NBA job recently. Thought that was kinda cool.
