New Jobs At Commercial Banks To Handle Problem Loans (special assets)
I've noticed a trend of new posting for problem loans. Mostly standard financial analysis plus all the paperwork and documentation needed to handle them - 90% of the job will probably be the latter. There are two things I've noticed many are temp but some are perm. There is something that is bothering me though, and that is that I think that some of those "perm" positions might not be so permanent if shit hits the fans. If new deals dry up you can easily shift existing analysts into the special assets, and if you can do that, the new meat is an excess operating cost.
Phat bump
I wonder if the special asset group would be good exposure for credit analysts with traditional C&I and CRE experience. I wonder if that would come with a pay bump even if it is a lateral move.
