No greater self delusion than what you see in men with ugly or plain Jane wives

I mean, yeah, fact of the matter is most guys who claim they’d rather “sacrifice” looks for wits, personality, etc. are neglecting the fact that the two are not mutually exclusive like their comment implies. However, I do think finding a woman who A) is a smoke, B) you get along with really well, and C) you happen to bump into in the universe and have a shot at dating is a lot more rare than finding a girl who checks just boxes A or B. And most guys see a lot of women who check one of the boxes, and choose not to wait around for a woman who checks all of them. Not incredibly groundbreaking. Pretty lazy way to go about picking a partner, but then again that’s a lot of humanity at work. I applaud you for going after the one who has it all, though, that’s probably a more optimistic/self-respecting way of looking at things.
