No Nut November 2022

It's that time of year again. After completing a successful Sober October, I now embark on possibly a more challenging exhibition. I have read about the purported physical benefits of abstaining from self-pleasure and p*rnography including things like better sleep, improved focus, better physical performance and stamina, less anxiety, higher levels of motivation, etc.

Eager to see how this challenge will affect my life. I'm also cutting out social media since it is full of thirst traps and temptation. Will provide updates after one week.

Thanks Dave Rubin in disguise. I think the sober October is more beneficial for those of us that did it (not me said theAudiophile). I wish you the best on your journey.

The poster formerly known as theAudiophile. Just turned up to 11, like the stereo.

For a while, I followed a urologist on YouTube. She said there is zero evidence that abstaining from masturbation is beneficial to your health unless your relationship (no pun intended) with it is out of control (i.e., excessive). On a separate (though parallel) topic, pornography is definitely corrosive and I would highly recommend people never watch it as that is definitely ruining people's sex lives and marriages.

biologically, you need the release, it has been linked to lower incidence of prostate cancer

how you get the release is the real question, if you're addicted to beating off particularly to porn, that is a problem like all other addictions

rather than going against a very natural thing, just quit porn and social media and find your release the old fashioned way (with a consenting partner)
