NO READIN’ OR WRITIN’ FOR BUSH

As consumers seek to compensate for budgets threatened by spiraling fuel costs and the rising cost of essentials such as food, spending money on books has become of a discretionary budget areas where they are cutting costs.

Within this dismal book sale market, not a single damn publishing house is clambering to fork out a $15million book advance to George W. Bush to write a memoir, like they did for, say, Bill Clinton. Either it’s a clear sign of the declining book industry in these hard economic times, or a sign of the reading taste of the American public with the popularity of one of the most hated presidents in history who has trouble with basic grammar.

Among the book categories registering increased sales are inexpensive e-books, up 19.9 percent to $3.4 million; but that’s still not a good Bush memoir option. Cost could be greatly cut by publishing house by offering George W. to pen an alternative scribe on his years in the Oval Office. What about the George W. Bush coloring book? He wont even have to draw inside the lines!

HAHAHA (that was sarcatic).

In the future Bush will be remembered as a much better president than many think him now.

I tend to agree, MMB. Human beings have short memories, but we did have--what?--65 months straight of economic growth, which I believe approaches an American record. History books don't forget these things.

There's also a chance that he'll be Harry Truman-ish. Truman was reviled by the time he left office, but is considered today to be a hero of the Cold War and one of the better presidents. Now, I'm not saying I'm a huge fan of Bush--in fact, I think the majority of his domestic policy has been Liberal Democrat-ish--but context is something contemporaries lack.

Totally agree with what you said- I lke a quote that I read about Bush's politics that he was a "Republican not a Conservative". Its like the WSJ said, he tried to play both sides of the aisle and it destroyed him- he is hated by DEmocrats for being a Republican, disliked by the majority of his party for being too liberal. History will look back and say hmmmm almost 6 years of economic growth, adept handling of 9/11, good handeling of Afghanistan, bad middle to Iraq but good otherwise, tried a LIBERAL approach to the recent economic crisis and the things he has been destroyed about (i.e. firing the attorneys) has been done by previous presidents/HOS (Clinton fired all the attorneys btw)

Well, sir, I've asked dozens of people this question--what specific Bush policy is responsible for the financial crisis? Nobody can answer me this question except for "lack of regulation." In fact, Bush attempted to regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac against successful Democrat opposition. How is Bush responsbile for Europe entering a deep recession? Last I checked, the European Union had a larger GDP than the United States and it is in meltdown mode. I know Bush is to blame from everything from hurricanes to inner city murder (according to the Left), but how is Bush or his policies responsible for Europe and Australia? Where are the facts for the unifying theme that "Bush did it"?

ur a dumbass Kool-Aid drnker of the mass media. Do you seriously think this was only Bush's fault!? Comon, Clinton's administration passed the incentves for subprime loans for FM and Freddie, and in 2003 Bush said subprime was bad and we should do something, but the Democrats in Congress refused to do anything. Obama said in 2007 how subprime morgages were helping poor americans to reach out of poverty. THIS IS NOT BUSH's FAULT!

Finally a place where people aren't blaming everything wrong in the country on Bush! Not that I support the man, I just think its ridiculous how people try to pile all the blame on U.S. presidents, no matter who they are. Always wears me down as it makes me feel surrounded by people who only want to "drink the kool-aid" as MMBinNC said.
