IlliniProgrammerI'm not sure this is the right move. Bloomberg's press conference this morning is going to be make-or-break for his career. He needs to establish a clear separation of what he did from violating peoples' freedom of speech.

I think he can do it, but he needs to make a good case.

Make or break? Considering all the shit he's done before (positive or otherwise), he'll be just fine.

He's in a city of liberals and they're not going to forget this. Folks still haven't forgotten the Bonus Army under Hoover. He needs to draw a clear line of separation between first-amendment protected protest and camping.

OWS is an aftershock from what happened in North Africa as well as the protests going on in Greece. I don't think it's going to get as bad as the '60s, but you look at the conservatives who lived through that period- like Pat Buchanan- and they are quietly hoping and praying that cooler heads prevail on both sides.

Exterminate them.
