I had a final round interview with one of the desks in the securities division this past friday. How long do you think it should take for them to get back to me assuming I will get the offer? It has been two days so far and they have contacted my the next day for every previous round.

After successfully making it through the full GS interview process (internship 2 summers ago and just now for full-time hire), I'd say to expect a call in the 2nd or 3rd week after the interviews. That is UNLESS you notified them you have a rapidly approaching offer from another (competing) firm, in which case they will get back to uber-quick. Super days in NYC are ALWAYS Friday and from what I've seen, the HR reps usually also do their "offer notification calls" on Fridays.

g'luck!

Hi, my name is Dana. I'm going to be on vacation staying downtown Manhattan from January 4 to the 10th. I was wondering if I could solicit a qualified person for information session (over lunch or dinner) about the finance industry in New York. My background and what I'm expecting to do in the near future qualifies me for the top b-schools. I plan to make regular trips and make new mentors and friends.

Thank you for taking a moment. I appreciate how busy you guys are at the global level.

hi weiluwu, your internship is with GS in downtown nyc? if so, that's interesting that your super day is monday because I was under the strong impression that the only host super-days on Friday. In any case, you asked how you should prepare for that and this is what i suggest: -You've already passed the screen and now you just need them to like you. -Make sure you've got solid numbers on a couple picks, as the question goes "your 5 favorite stocks or wtvr" -Your interviewers probably know more than you do about anything they'll talk to you about so def do not BS them. GS employees have rigorous rules for what they can and can not say at interviews and they are not gonna ask you something that they do not already know themselves. -Especially with an internship, they really just wanna introduce you to the team (or teams if your lucky enough to get to interview with more than team) and make sure you're as good as your resume and earlier interview screens show you to be.

if you know your stuff and you're not a weirdo, which ill assume you're not or else you wouldnt make it this far, then i'm sure you'll get the position. Keep in touch with your progress!

I had an interview for Operations about 2 weeks ago, I haven't heard anything yet from the company. To be prepared make sure you go to the GS interview preparation at the website. They can ask you question from Why the financial crisis? ur favorite class? ur biggest achivement? what kind of skills you can apply at GS? Make sure to be prepared for anything.

Does anyone have received an offer? When the people from operations who interviewed this month of nov will received notifications?

Thank you so much Mioka and hipsterzipster. I should have told you earlier but I forgot my password...I finally got an offer from Goldman. I will start next summer. It's in NY. TightMonkey, probably I will see you there ^^
