I received an offer to join a bank in a different city. I can be remote for a while but ultimately need to move there soon. The thing is, I still have to pay my lease for my current apartment until July. If I move to my new city in March, am I just gonna have to suck it up and pay 2 rents? Sub-leasing is not allowed in my current building.

If you can work remote, why not just move in July?
Valid point. I need to double check with them to see when the bank is going to decide that people need to be back in the office.
Are you getting a signing bonus? Typically they'll throw you ~$10k to cover moving expenses/stuff like this. If they're not, I'd point out you have a lease until July and need a relocation package. Make sure you bring this up before you sign the offer.
Even if they'd technically allow it I personally wouldn't want to start a new job with 4 months remote if everyone else is mostly in office - just makes it so hard to become part of the team
True about becoming part of the team. I dont feel as productive when Im remote either. I'd hate to have to spend my whole signing bonus on paying for rent but it is what it is
Have you read your lease….? There’s probably a lease break clause you’ll just have to pony up a month or two of rent
