Personal Account Trading Success / Failure Stories
With all the hype right now about retail trading, I'm interested to hear some data points about your guys PAs and the success you've had. How much do you have in your PA, what are your returns like, how much time you put into it, etc. Just started reading "Unknown Market Wizards" by Jack Schwager and its interesting how there are people out there who have truly made a killing just from trading on the side.
Wow Jack Schwager has a new book! Thanks for the reco. I just ordered it. I haven’t read his books in a decade but really enjoyed Market Wizards and New Market Wizards.
Yup, just got it on audible, real interesting so far
Back in June I purchased a sizable amount of January 2021 Tesla puts w/ a $500 (pre-split) strike
RIP
Threw 7k in a PA and bought a 54 Jan 29 GME Call for 1.05. Used that profit to buy shares and at its peak (when GME hit 480) I was at 55k. Then when it fell back to earth I lost about 20k. Trimmed my position so now I'm sitting on 40k, so 7k->40k in a week 😂
Up 1000% this year on TSLA with a bit of margin.
I bought GME at $17 and sold at $32 on the first day of the spike...
