Plead Guilty to Speeding Ticket -- Will This Impact My Career or Grad School odds?

So, I plead guilty to speeding 12 miles over the speed limit. Will this impact my MBA odds? My friend said it is a misdemeanor, even though it is literally a speeding ticket, nothing else.

Do companies care about this? It is just a speeding ticket.

Will this prevent me from getting into a quality MBA program if I tick the other boxes of strong WE, GPA, GMAT?

Freaking out right now. So, I'd appreciate any insights/advice.

I'm not sure how deep background checks go. What I am sure of is that no reputable firm or school would hold a speeding ticket against you.

If you're really freaking out, take one of those defensive driving classes that lower the points on your license. Then you can tell people you made a mistake but were responsible in remediation.

My recommendation is to not worry about it at all.

YES, you are 100% fucked. At this point, I hope you can change tires because that is pretty much your only career option! 12 miles OVER? Dude wtf???

Must be a new driver

Wuuuut. Dude no one cares if you have even 15 speeding tickets. As a car guy i might even laugh and joke around if someone told me that. But no that won't affect your career prospects in the chance this was a serious question. Employers and schools care about crimes which could reflect on character and judgement ie. theft or narcotics possession or driving under the influence
