Quarantine Housing

My lease was up a few months ago in the city so rather than deciding to renew, I moved back in with the rents (pros and cons). The girlfriend found a job and wants to move back into the city. After not paying rent the past few months I’m starting to realize just how much money in rent is thrown down the drain. Combined with knowing I’ll spend 95% of my time in a tiny apartment for at least the next few months, I’m not jacked to sign on the dotted line...

Curious, how have others dealt with lease renewals during quarantine?

Moved from downtown DC where I was paying $1700 to share an 800SF 2 bedroom apartment to VA suburbs where I’m paying $1330 for a true one bedroom in a 5 year old building.

There are tons of deals out there - if you’re going to be spending all your time inside, live in Jersey City for 6-12 months and enjoy the tax + rent savings.
