Regular Monitor vs Portable Monitor for WFH - Advice

An intern trying to set up for WFH here. The firm has asked us to set up a monitor for work this summer. Is there significant advantage or reason to choose one over the other for consulting work? I'm currently in a different state than the firm I'm working with, so transporting a regular monitor once I finish the internship would be some headache. My work desk also isn't too spacious. So I'm wondering if I can get away with a smaller portable monitor? Or if a regular monitor would make life significantly easier.
