No one can answer this question for you without any information. What's your diet? How active are you?

If you're asking a question like this, then you're probably a complete beginner, so what's your body fat? Whatever you think it is, it's probably higher. What are your maintenance calories? What is your body type? What are you doing now? Do you even lift?

Body fat

Besides measuring your body fat you can look up a body fat chart like this to get a rough idea about where you stand, there are many others as well. Take a picture of yourself with your shirt off and compare yourself to the guys in this picture. If you're at 20%-25% body fat then I think it's realistic to get the physique you want by next summer, but if you're at around 40% then you are going to have a longer journey. 180lbs is a bit on the heavier side for 5'8". How much of it is muscle vs. fat? Have you been bulking?

You also have to take into account your body type.

Body Type

Are you a "hardgainer" Ectomorph and have more difficulty building muscle? Are you an Endomorph and get fat easily?

Isaiah is right. If you cut to about 160lbs you will likely see your abs and that's doable by next summer. He's also right about Muay Tai or MMA. Fighting will get you in shape.

youre never getting abs isiah hogs them all. you can still get ibs though close second

Yeah it largely depends on height and weight unless you’re a Mr. Olympia.

I’m 72.5in, my abs get super chiseled at 178lbs:

And at 188lbs:

Im guessing you need to cut to 160lbs. A lot of cardio will burn a ton of calories. If you’re really serious, aim to burn 4000-5000 calories per day. This may take 3hrs per day of working out. Abs come at a cost. Either you’re working your ass off or you’re on T and steroids. Good luck.

Can never see pics in the app so went to safari browser. Never a bad day when daddy Isaiah poses shirtless.

This is about as peak natty as you can get right here. Isaiah, have you ever tried roids or PEDs?

Honestly, join a Muay Thai gym - you will get shredded.

This 1000x, when I was boxing 5x a week and lifting every other day I legit got visibly leaner (up to a certain point obv) every couple weeks despite eating 5-6 big meals a day, loved it.

I know BMI isn't a very good measure for many reasons, but in general, unless you're a huge bodybuilder, 5'8" and 180 lbs is definitely in the 'overweight' section. But the fact that you lost 60 lbs in 12 months is impressive and shows that you know what you gotta do to lose weight, and you have the discipline to lose weight. So I'd say you can reasonably get down to ~155/160 by end of year. At this weight you should definitely have visible abs, but in order to have a 6-pack/be jacked, I feel like you'll either need to lose more weight (sub-150 lbs) or be ~155/160 lbs with a lot of muscle. Again, I'm no doctor, but I'm just speculating.

For comparison, I'm 5'11" and 170-175 lbs with a solid build (not super strong, but definitely got muscle) and have some visible abs when my shirt is off, but am surely not 6-pack. But I also don't really care about abs much since I have a lot of chest hair that covers it up anyways, and I don't go the beach much.
