Even if it’s Yenching and not Schwarzman? Are you referring to both?

Considering not taking it because i received a full-time IB opportunity at a Tier 2/3 Bank out of undergrad. Do you really think Yenching can give me a better chance, especially knowing this program is not well known in Europe/US?

Thanks.

If you want to go IB, just go IB. You can do a 2 yr stint and then get an MBA and go anywhere.

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." - Bruce Lee

Do not have work experience yet to go into MF PE, HF, MBA. So it’s either Full time work for which I had to interview or re-do the whole process after Yenching.

Wouldn't dismiss yenching just because this forum isn't familiar. Its placement just as hard with university nomination required for schools like Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, etc. to even apply (Schwarzman doesn't require this though still very competitive). Yenching just attracts a different crowd. Schwarzman gets more business types while Yenching gets more academia/policy wonks. According to Linkedin Yenching seems to have solid placements into top law schools HLS, SLS, YLS as well as phd programs. If you want to learn about China as a "scholar" would actually be better choice than Schwarzman which seems like basically an American Ivy set in China. Even the degrees are in "China Studies" vs "Global Affairs".
