I was wondering how much do you guys pay in rent relative to your base salary in NYC? It seems like the 30% rule is hard to achieve unless you live with a roommate. Also is it realistic to live in Jersey City/Hoboken if you work in FIDI? I don't know much about NYC.

If you're making 85k, 30% of gross salary is 2125. Should be doable to find a 1 bed for that much in Murray Hill, LES, Fidi, etc
