Safety for women in IB - Housing & Commute

IB analysts normally get off work pass 10pm, 12am, 2am... Take New York for example, which really doesn't make me feel safe. After quarantine, I imagine crime rate would only go up instead of down.

How far is your apartment from office? How do you commute to home? Any safety tips?
