“See you soon”—thoughts?
Hi, I just wrapped up a final round with a senior partner at a MM fund. Good convo, slightly technical, but at the end he said “see you soon”. Is this a good sign? English is my second language so I am not sure of the connotation
yeah he wants to kiss you, english is my only language so im 100% on this
In Europe, “see you soon” would mean I could expect an offer. But idk if Americans are just cordial this way. Role is my #1 choice so been thinking about it a lot
Confirming the kiss idea. Managing partner at my firm said this at the end of my interview. A year later when I joined, he went tongue-first
But was it in ur butt hole though?
ok judging from the unserious responses im going to assume it means nothing
Just purely as FYI. I know multiple stories of verbal/written “see you soon” and “hope we talk soon” from MDs and Fund Heads and ends up being a rug pull / go in other direction. But that’s in US MM east coast, sounds like you’re Europe. Point is in US I literally wouldn’t believe a word anyone ever says until you have a written offer. Sadly it’s that crazy out there especially in this market…
im european in america lol
Got it lol. Ur def in a good promising spot with this process so I don’t want to bring u down. But would just keep very level head about it. Also the bloodbath stories im describing are more at Sr Aso / VP level where it’s pretty ugly.
bump,similar situation
Don’t read into it. I say a million words a day. I don’t pick them carefully.
Aligned. I interpret this as a "best of luck" or "speak soon" equivalent - AKA closing filler and wouldn't read into it.
With that said, best of luck getting the offer! :)
