Selling Virginity - thoughts?

I am fascinated by the way that the internet has now enabled certain entrepreneurial young females to sell their virginity for ungodly sums.

It first started with a gal in Brazil selling her virginity online for $780k to a Japanese businessman.

Another gal from Azerbaijan sold hers for $2.6mn

An American gal sold her for 2.5mn EUR.

Then a Romanian gal sold hers for GBP 2 million.

Some dude tried to do the same, and he only managed to get $2.6k.
Because... of course he did. But kudos for trying homie. Believe in miracles.

So what do you guys think?

Yes, it's prostitution, certainly.

But aren't we all prostituting ourselves to some extent?

If choice was:

A - collecting millions of dollars for a night of being wined, dined and copulation with a member of the opposite sex,

or

B - jockeying a laptop for 16+ hrs a day, 50 weeks a year, for a couple decades

I think the choice is clear.

Let's face it, either way, you're getting f*ked.

Selling your virginity is just one of the many branches of selling sex. Some sell pussy, ass or their mouths and other sell things that are perceived as valuable in certain culture (e.g. your virginity). I think once you decide to sell your body for money there shouldn't be a limit to where you draw the line. If anything, finding a niche that people will pay unreal money for a great entrepreneurial spirit.

As for your option A, if there were an escort that cost millions of dollars for a single night, sex with her better cure cancer and end poverty. Damn man, where do you get your escorts from?

This is ridiculous in my opinion) There are things which are much more important than money.. Anyway, even if you get that much money so easily, you won't enjoy it properly and likely to spend it on some shit, but if you really work hard for it and earn good money, then it is a different level of satisfaction

No it's not. I've bought a lot of shit with essentially stolen money. Felt great.

I would rather tell my son that i have worked very hard and earned a reasonable amount of money than "Hey son, you know what, when i was 18 i sold my ass for 2 million".

Right of center socially but I find virginity to be super important. It's priceless and you can't really sell that. Honestly I would place infinitely more value on a date if she was a virgin over a non virgin . Of course I'm talking about voluntarily giving it away (which in many ways is selling it away if you consider fancy dinners and nice things BFs get for GFs to have a night at it). If the GF was assaulted that doesn't count . I'm not going to play the "blame the victim game here".

Huh. Now that is interesting.
I've heard other friends say the same but I guess I never really understood it.

Mind you, choosing when and to whom to lose one's virginity is a big personal decision.

But I'm not sure as a guy I really ever saw it as particularly relevant whether a girl was a virgin or not.

Interesting.

Hence I suppose it's why it surprises me that some wealthy people were willing to pay millions of dollars for the privilege of being the girls' first.

TBH, in comparing my time with girls without experience to ones with experience and enthusiasm... well, no comparison really...

Let's take a step back and forget about dating . Let's just talk about the girls personality. A girl who is a non-virgin has definitely had way more boyfriends then a virgin. Pretty much always such a girl is basically a flirt. In my own personal experience ,it's hard to even be friends with such girls. I didn't really have an interest in dating just being friends if you know what I mean, but after being friendly for like s week, it seems to cue those girls to start actively flirting with me . Begin to wonder if they are really interested only to see the week after that the girls flirt with other guys as well. And it's not like a genuine mistake or anything . They know how to flirt but not a person I could be a friend with . Now when considering dating someone , I feel like being exclusive is not hard to ask. But the flirts flirt even when dating and they will flirt with guys who are dating . How can you trust somebody like that for any sort of long term relationship? That's why virgins are viewed with infinitely more value . Because they aren't as shallow and flirty like other girls . Obviously one parameter is not enough to build a relationship , but it does say something about the girl herself. In many ways a girl selling her virginity is throwing away her reputation.

In any case though, I salute these ladies' entrepreneurship.

Especially the first girl to put hers up online. That took major lady balls, and I think it's kind of empowering.

I recall there was a lot of public backlash and I presume the immediate social-circle peer-pressure / judgement must have been significant.

BUT if I was a Brazilian, where annual GDP per capita is $8.3k, and I managed to get someone to basically pay 100 years' worth of salary for a night's work, I'd consider it immensely powerful.

She has just managed to free her entire family financially.

Talk about taking one for the team.

Now her mom can afford that house, she can get a university education, brothers and sisters can get an education, etc.

In a sense, I kind of think she flipped the script - turned the male-dominated outlook on virginity on its head.

Like "OK, so you dudes only value me for my looks and purity? OK, why don't you underwrite my entire education to the ridiculous sum of 100x GDP for that quasi-imaginary mental thing you dudes care so much about."

Your argument is pathetic, You try to use one example of a poor Brazilian girl to argue that prostitution is a form of woman empowerment. Stop acting like some moral beacon in an ivory lighthouse trying to free women from the shackles of men.

WOW.

Man, have you got a chip on your shoulder.

Nowhere did I act like a beacon of anything, nor did I ever claim any moral highground.

I just said that in my opinion this is pretty entrepreneurial.

And it DOES strike me as an interesting way to flip the game. This is not just prostitution - this is 100x GDP per capita prostitution. You don't see the difference?

So tell me, where did I touch a nerve? Where does that backlash come from?

I don't want to have a daughter.....

Your daughter makes you 2.5mm in one night, and say she spends 15% on you and another 35% on other family members that you would have had to spend your hard earned money on - I don't think you'd be disappointed.

Michael Che said it best:

"I've been accused. In an interview, what would I do if I had a gay son. I was like, "If I had a gay son, I'd probably be sad. But I'd also be sad if I had a straight daughter. I just don't want anybody to fuck my kid."

But actually when my wife got pregnant I secretly hoped for a son. Life is really hard for women, and I don't think I'd want my kid going thru what girls go thru.
