Shared or single bedroom for SA?

Going to be interning in NYC for SA 2022. I've been looking at NYU dorms and apartment-style shared bedrooms are cheaper by over $100/week than singles, ($4350 vs $5490 for 10 weeks). Wondering if paying more for single bedroom is worth it?

Also what is the average amount people spend for summer housing? My max budget is 2k/month so 5k for the whole summer, but is it possible to get private bedrooms for cheaper?
