Sie Study tips/services

Anyone have advice for where I can find good study materials for the sie? I have general understanding but want to brush up a bit on all the nitty and particular regulatory things that seem to be impossible to remember.

Knopman and STC are generally the best from what I know. I used STC and it was good and very extensive. Knopman was what a lot of my friends used and they liked it.

Dayman?

Grab something, read it. I never actually took the SIE (grandfathered in) but it's designed for marketing folks and the like. In my opinion people overly obsess over it. If you have a finance background you should be fine with a once-over through the material.

There's an industry joke about all of these licencing exams: "If you passed by more than one point, then you studied too hard." Seriously, nobody's going to care what you got on the exam as long as you have the cert.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

To be frank, any vendor is fine as long as you put in the time.
