I think that they should get rid of all academics, or at least not let them teach. And then to teach you have to have worked in industry for 10+ years. I have this professor right now who is great, he'll just be like: "So there's this thing in the book, but I talked to some PE guys and they told me that nobody ever does it this way so we aren't going to worry about it."
This is probably true about every, or almost every, discipline.
