Sports betting in finance

How prevalent is sports betting from your pov. With the recent rise is gambling and legal apps seems like people are more open about it. Many of the guys in the office partake pretty openly especially the younger guys. Wouldn’t say it’s amounts they can’t afford but some people are quite different.

When I was an analyst saw one of the guys turn his bonus into >300k throughout march madness following basically one team that made it to the finals. He lost it pretty quick after that.

Also know quite a few guys in debt (cc/loans) from betting too much which obviously will have some negative long term effects.

That being said anyone ripping the cfb playoffs?
