Summer Internship and Volunteer Work

Does it look good in a resume for a person to have a summer internship in NY and volunteer at a non profit foundation in NY at the same time? Or should a person just focus their energy on their internship?

I'd say it depends a lot on how you write it in your CV.

I personally feel taking these two at the same time feels rather like resume-padding.

On a more general note, I certainly would not like it if you were supposed to work FT, but clearly had quite a bit of activities and time spent in your volunteering. Makes me question how committed you are to your internship. Would also like to see that this person has more social life than just internship and volunteering.

Just my 2c.

Cheers, J
