Teamwide prank wars are out of control - mandatory NDAs

For context, I work for an EB (think Evercore, Lazard, PJT), non-NY office.

We have two very competitive and high-performing teams in our office, and although I think a certain sense of rivalry is good for overall camaraderie, it has gone way too far.

What started as a friendly office prank war between a few analysts spread into associates and VPs joining in. Over the last month, keyboards and mouses were destroyed, monitors were placed in the elevator, and I believe that one associate even put sardines in a vegetarian analyst's lunch. This is not ok, but it went to a whole other level this Friday when EVERY SINGLE TIRE of each of my team member's cars was deflated. They hit 2 MDs, more than 5 VPs, and every analyst and associate that drove in. The police are now involved and both groups are being questioned. Rumor is that we will be forced to sign NDAs on Monday so I thought I'd share now.

I have no idea how this is going to shake out, but hopefully whoever did this is brought to justice. It's something you would expect in a bad neighborhood, not the staff of one of the most well-respected firms in the industry.

lmfao wtf this cannot be real, hope the perpetrators get brought to justice.

As an aside, how did you start this by any chance?

Geez, even those prior examples are unacceptable and crossing a line. At my office the "prank war" is putting random post it notes or hiding all of someone's black pens in favor of purple glitter pens for a few hours. Messing with someone's food is bordering on harassment

Hope the tire person just comes forward and pays for it all quietly on Monday otherwise a lot of people may be in trouble
