While I've been blessed in many ways throughout my life, those blessings didn't extend to my head. I'm now at the point where I'll be getting a hair transplant in the next few months and undoubtedly will have to tell my boss. We are a small team / company ( 30 people company-wide) and it'll be a pretty obvious change that I'll need to address. For additional context, we have a flexible work policy so I plan to wfh for about ~5 weeks post surgery. Regardless, I'd still like to tell him so I don't show back up and shock him / everyone. So, my two questions are:
- How do I even approach / frame the conversation? Feels incredibly awkward
- Should I mention it to my other team members (ASO, VP) given the small team dynamic? I plan to own it when I'm back in the office, but unsure if it's overkill to tell everyone prior.
Where are you getting it done? US? Turkey? How much is it - how many graphs are you getting?
US $11k 2k graphs… I know it’s pricey. Just prefer not to go overseas!

The guys that own their transplants never have people talking behind their back about them. I'd honestly just tell him and have a good laugh about it - will make it less awkward for everyone because they're not going to want to comment on what's obvious when you get back without you offering it up first.
This is the way, just find a way to bring it up with a joke to break the ice, it'll be awkward at first but just own and you'll be fine.

I would definitely tell the boss and just be honest about it. Regarding the team, I would tell them if you going from like mostly bald to a full head of hair. Also, the team is probably wonder why are not going to be in the office for 5 weeks
