The 5 Books/Movies you MUST read/watch for finance

A couple of amazing books and films that I would recommend for anyone in the finance industry.

  1. **The Intelligent Investor** - Benjamin Graham - Hands down a must read for anybody even thinking about a profession in the financial markets. The language used is so simple even a kid could understand it. Teaches the basics of investing and the principles any investor should follow.
  2. **How to Win Friends and Influence People** - Dale Carnegie - One of the only books out there to actually give people techniques and the skillset that we desire most of all, dealing with other people. For all the MD's out there who need leadership advice or for the analysts who need to know how to react under stress and work in a team this a must read.
  3. **The Big Short** - 2008 Crisis? This movie tells the story of how it all happened and who orchestrated it all. They use big celebs to explain some of the financial jargon that laymen wont understand which is a huge plus and adds to the watchability.
  4. **Billions** - Wanna know what it's like to be alpha? Meet Bobby Axelrod, hedge fund manager. This 3 season TV series is honestly my favourite out of this list. It's whole plot is based around power plays between this fund manager and a State Attorney gunning to put him behind bars. The series shows the dirty side of insider trading which adds to the drama for sure.
  5. **Money Never Sleeps** - Just watched this movie recently and it's gotta make this list. Full of backstabbing and two-timing that takes place on Wall Street especially during the 07/08 crash. It features Gordon Gecko and the broken relationship he had with his daughter because of his imprisonment from insider trading. The film shows the hustle that all of us know is needed to make it in this field which makes it more inspirational.

Thoughts monkeys? Any recommendations that you would add to the list?
