Classic example of someone steeped into the weird corners of the internet and not realizing what the real world is.
He’s an idiot. I don’t see how that kid is ever going to be hired by any professional services firm. Would be idiotic to make a statement like that about any group of people in any setting, let alone in writing using your college email.
I’m also all for giving people second chances for mistakes, but he doubled down instead of apologizing. As someone who hires people, there are simply too many qualified candidates to spend a second risking hiring him.
Wouldn’t be surprised if Cornell expels him, it’s a bad look for the school. Pretty disgusting behavior.
Even worse considering the fact that financial and business services is very Jewish. While I have my issues with the state of Israel, attacking individual people for their beliefs is idiotic. Many look back on the treatment of Muslims in the wake of 9/11 as a terrible example for the nation, and yet we are repeating ourselves again and again.
Not really alleged when he makes a lengthy X post confirming it...
Real life is the best teacher, and college kids generally haven't lived enough of it yet to know better. Obviously it's an incredibly dumb move, particularly if you want to work in finance of all career paths. But I can't really see how it's that different than the anti-white/pro-DEI sentiment you see on campuses across the country, it's just the other, equally dumb extreme. The child's entitled to his ignorant opinions, he'll either learn they're ones he shouldn't have/should keep to himself or he won't get a job. Whatever happens, who really cares?

I'm actually curious how reputation is observed on HR / recruiting side. Is it all word of mouth or do HR do a quick internet screen pre hiring? What if someone hires this kid and finds out after the fact? Is it legal to be fired?

Kid is a moron. If that’s really how you feel just keep it to yourself. Real question is - was this kid Team Hasan or Team Fuentes?
Substantial overlap across the two…
Bro threw away any chance at a career for this bs. Still nuts how they went out of their way to blast this kid.
