Twitch streamer XQC signs $100,000,000 two-year contract
Felix Lengyel (27), known as xQc, is the top video game streamer on Twitch. He just signed a 2-year non-exclusive contract to stream on Kick (Twitch competitor)

You:
- Worked your ass off to get into Ivy League and best internships
- Worked your ass off to get into top IB/PE
- Worked your ass off grinding 80+ hours/week in your 20s for a CHANCE at $1m+, losing your soul along the way
- Have shitty bosses and unlikable competitive peers who constantly judge you on "mUh PrEsTiGe"
Him:
- Dropped out of high school
- Plays video games and watches TikTok videos
- Gets a $100m contract
- Millions of fans and industry thought leader (online entertainment)
- Insults hot chick calling her "mid" (Madison Beer) and she still loves him

LMAO negging works when you are top 1% male
Me:
- Forum loser
edit:
coping seethers are downvoting because they can't fathom that some lucky motherf*cker with no college education can make more $$$ than they will in multiple lifetimes, doing no effort work like playing video games and reacting to TikTok/YouTube videos. welcome to the new era of labor compensation
damn, rip to Twitch. They just lost basically everything major streamer in the last 2 years.
Whoever is running that company needs to be fired.
I'm on Twitch all the time as a viewer watching poker friends. A lot of them are away recently to play the WSOP in Vegas though.
If you can create demand and viewers these days, you can monetize easily. The hard part is getting millions of viewers.
In a way, it really makes you think. Sometimes if you are creative, driven and talented enough to start your own thing, you just might be MORE successful than taking the well worn path. XQC is entertaining and skilled enough to attract that many people on Twitch/Streaming. Even then, mediocre or regular streamers can make $100k playing video games.
Risk versus reward my friend. Do finance people (often) get $100 mm deals to move shops, no. But it’s pretty difficult to be struggling to pay rent or buy food in the “well worn path”. Talk to the 150th most-watched guy streaming Fortnite on Kick who wants to be the next xQc and get back to us. I can absolutely assure you that “mediocre” streamer is not making $100k, and if they are, they are significantly closer to the top .1% of earners than not.
Exactly. Apply this to most easy professions too
not true. xQc even said that streamers with less than 1000 average viewers still earn $100k/yr, $150k. not from subscriptions or ads, but from sponsored streams (companies pay you to play their game or show off their product for one-time)
Agreed. There are about 8M Twitch users. The proportion of them making enough money to live decently is miniscule since you have to be in the top 100. Comparable odds to going pro in some sports.
The best streamer is darksydephil though.
right, spend 24/7 of your life on Twitch, TikTok, and annihilating your rivals on Fortnite, so whenever you meet me or any other finance guy talking about our job/compensation, you'll think "pfff what a bunch of losers, they don't even know that I'm on the path of getting a $100M contract, they're so lost in life lmfao"
if after 10 years of intense gaming, you manage to get a 20k cash prize in an e-sport competition, I'd be fucking surprised. heck, I'd even top that 20k with another 20k to help you move from your parent's basement to something nicer
you're saying you would rather be at GS/Evercore/Lazard making $1,000,000+ for "prestige", or even Blackstone/Apollo at $10,000,000, rather than being a degenerate playing video games for $50,000,000/yr?
the state of WSO LOL. of course 99.99% of people who do this path are bums going nowhere.
real prestige is income/net worth and industry influence. not some title at some company
0% prestige involved, the answer is here:
your thread sounds like the "why sell your soul for IB/PE/HF when you can be Michael Jordan and clean +$50M doing what you love"
total nonsense, but I take this as a shitpost (I hope it is) so we're good
The guy atleast has skill that has been developed which takes years, anyone into online gaming know how hard it actually is and how boring it actually gets to grind.
Just look at onlyfans models, that's the real shit.
*takes picture of ass* = $1,000,000+ per MONTH LUL
the real culprits are the thousands of simps who buy their shit
I've thought about this Deeply, I find it hard to believe there's millions of men out there paying for this shit, porn is free, if anyone is even a little bit smart he'd know that he could easily find leaks(5 min) of what he's paying for, I think there's multiple illegeal business( Mainly Money Laundering) being run through this, Would like to see a case study someday
Honestly, people underestimate how difficult it is to create a community of ~1-2m + that actively view your individual content. I did a deep dive into this space for a passion project and was blown away by just the sheer number of people from one faucet, Career Coach angles. There are the loudest in the room, the "LinkedIn Top Voices" (whatever that means), then there's a bunch of solo-preneuers who offer consultations, helped anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand students in their respective network and have their own system and specialty in place.
From the video game perspective, some video games have no ceiling for skill, so it takes typing drills, understanding frame rates for certain characters, and differing strategies to an in-depth level to even compete for this opportunity. The top 0.001% (perhaps smaller) get to win out these contacts while the bottom rest have nothing close.
Not to mention, the career route of IB/PE is objectively more open than being the top 0.001% of streamers and opens doors indefinitely into the future after 5-10 years when these streamers' reaction time slows down.
If anything, I'm impressed he has a following and know damn well I'd fall in the bottom 20% of players for most video games at the competitive level.
it's not about video game skill level. yes, he was a former esports pro player (but not very good)
it's his adhd personality which = $$$
I think Felix is an absolute tool but man, have to respect how he's monetized that trash personality into a very dedicated following and some serious bank. The talent here isn't gaming, its marketing. Absolute hats off.
Lebrons 2 year contract was $96M lol
Not bad… but MJ is still the Goat
Wall Street CEOs: Worked their ass off for 30-40 years to get where they are, worth a cool billion or two.
Some dude in California: Spent $2 on a powerball ticket and won $2 billion
Checkmate Wall Street, amirite?
no. the lottery winner is not self-made.
xQc, on the other hand, is self-made and YOUNG. created a path for himself and pioneered livestream entertainment.
rich wall street ceo? thousands of them. also old in their 50s and 60s, so they have to spend their money and live vicariously through their sons/daughters
So what? Are you going to tell your children to drop out and do nothing but video games, porn, and weed?
