Using personal laptop/phone

I hate how normalized it has become for some companies to want or even expect you to use your personal resources (phone, laptop) for job-related matters. If you don't provide me with a company phone, don't call me. If you don't provide me with a laptop, sorry but your company data belongs to me. Rant over

Agree and disagree. For the phone, so long as you give me a monthly stipend that I can spend towards my phone bill I can accept using my cell phone as well. If you want me to go in and reformat it to some obscure security standards similar to how you wanted me to superglue my USB ports shut on my laptop for a single project JPM? Get bent. And also screw you JPM for asking my employer to modify their machine to your standards when you could've given us an entirely separate laptop if it means that much to you. Which is where I agree that if you want me to have a computer to work on wherever I am as needed, then issue me a company laptop that meets your standards and compliance needs.

BYOD is a tricky one... so most of our partners or banks we work with allow it. But only for Teams and basic Sharepoint access - so many other features only work if we'd use THEIR machines.

Teams only works if THEIR corporate app is installed and it gets total privileges to wipe the entire device whenever they want to. Not a great solution, but that is how it is.
