Valentine Gift help for IB BF

My bf is an incoming 1st yr analyst at a boutique firm. I wanted to get him something nice and meaningful for valentines. He showed me a notebook and it seems like he did take a lot of notes during his internship , Would a Montblanc pen be a good idea?

Does he appreciate pens? If no, then I don't think he'll like it. Having an expensive pen feels more like a burden than luxury to me to be honest. How about an e-ink writer since he writes a lot?

If I were in his position, I'd prefer something related to my hobbies, a nice jacket, shoes, or something like that.

He really likes football so I got him a football plushie as something cute. I hinted at a brooks brother or suitsupply vest and he said he doesn't want to play into the stereotype
