sayandarulacanadians take their hockey fucking seriously i guess.
Yeah, it sometimes gets a bit excessive.
I don't think it's about taking hockey seriously. I think it's more about Vancouver being a weak sports city where the fans don't understand that losing is a part of sports.
There are many cities that care more about hockey than Vancouver, also who riots after a loss??
Fucking losers... If you want to show your passion you should do it in the arena, those fans sat on their hands after the 1st Bruins goal for the rest of the game.
I wanted to see Vancouver take the cup. I sort of despise all Boston sports with the Bruins being the most tolerable. A little hockey rioting never hurt anybody! Those Canadians love their hockey, aye?
@adapt: I don't think it's so much about the loss as it is drunk idiots wanting to stir up shit decided this is a good time to riot. Just like how there were G20 riots in Toronto - not because people were trying to raise awareness, a few idiots wanted to flip cars and other idiots decided to up the ante and start looting... while everyone else just watched
They probably would have rioted even if Canucks won.
Though, to your point, I was saddened by people booing when the cup was presented to the Bruins. That was a poor showing

They were booing the widely disliked Gary Bettman (NHL commish), which is practically tradition at this point. When Thomas was presented with the Conn Smythe Trophy, the crowd cheered. In fact, the Vancouver crowd at the stadium was pretty classy, and this is coming from a Bruins fan.

Ah, alright - tks for the clarification. Glad to hear they were classy... at least before the riot.
@ Ben: I'm not a hockey fan so I don't know that booing the winning away team was common. I watch basketball, and besides booing hated characters (e.g. LeBron), all in all winning away teams don't usually get booed.
UFOinsiderSoooo, we figured out how to actually get under a Canadian's skin - beat them at the game they invented.
War on Terror - no problem
Recession - no problem
Stanley Cup Loss - problem
lol... logically it'd make more sense if it's an Olympics gold game than a Stanley Cup (I'm sure the Bruins have a fair share of Canadians in their team), but yeah.
Man, those socialist hippy rioters are a fu cking disgrace. At least the retards were posing for their stupid fb photos, should lead to some easy arrests by the VanPD.

Where is the high res version of that picture of the girls with the flag?
Didn't watch the game, but I know that they usually boo Commissioner Gary Bettman when he presents the trophy because no one in hockey likes him. Did they also boo the Bruins??
"I don't know how to explain to you that you should care about other people."
Watched them live, the police were a bunch of bitches. If this riot was going down in LA people would have got there asses handed to them the police didn't really try to stop the rioters till it got out of hand. But when the police did get near them they just ran away...
The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee

Pretty pathetic. The crowd was non-existent after the first goal. Then again, that's a recurring theme in North American sports. Not even college ball here comes close to soccer games in Europe and South America.
There are riots in a lot of places after a big win/loss. Boston after they won the world series, Europe after soccer matches, LA when they won the NBA Finals a few years ago, etc.
If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses - Henry Ford
Dude, I'm not an insecure soccer fan. I've been to the Garden, I've been to Fenway and I love the Sox/Bruins/Celtics. But it's just not the same. Sports are actually less of a big deal outside of the US. You don't really talk about soccer to make small talk. But when you're in the stadium, it's different. The stuff I've been through with my team (Paris Saint-Germain) just wouldn't happen over here. Maybe in the old Garden with the Cs dynasty, but not anymore. I remember going to a game against the Knicks during our ridiculous 08 season and not even being able to fill the noise meter. Hockey is the closest you get to a real atmosphere, but it appears Canadians have a hard time keeping that up once they're down a goal.
I simply find it incongruous that people get so riled up outside after not putting in much at the game, although the rioters are mostly freeloaders.
Vancouver fans suck, they do not deserve such a nice city.
They even stayed till late in the third period to boo at the end. Then they riot for losing? I saw the game with a bunch of normal Canucks fans in Houston, not the weirdo losers from downtown vancouver too many hippies.
This is just another example of losers who think that a sports team winning or losing has any influence on their life. The athletes who play have accomplished something. The clown on the couch, crying because other successful, grown men lost is pathetic.

You know they'd have been in the streets if they won.
And every year that the cup is given to the away team this happens.

Happened during the riot....flashbang to the balls...ouch?

Hahaha. My family's vacationing there now, wonder what happened to them.
No idea only have a small .gif saved on my pc... might even be 2 trannies.
HAHA - I love how people who never played hockey get so passionate about it! It's like they have nothing else in life.
