Wait... Is 'Industry' actually good now?

I think 'Industry' might actually be good now and have finally found it's stride.

I started watching Season 1 out of a sort of irony - how would they dramatise what I see everyday? It was very rough and they were clearly trying bits out - "do people care about the finance, the sex, the drugs, or none of the above?" Everything was over the top. The later seasons toned this down a bit.

Season 2 found it's legs a bit more, the quality was more consistent with some stand out scenes but it could still be better and there were some really weird developments that felt forced.

Season 3 feels like a thematic retcon of the earlier seasons, especially as Harper is much less in focus, but so far it seems to be working. Every episode so far has been top quality, especially Episode 4 (Rishi's character study). My maybe one criticism is they've strayed from the high finance aspect which feels a lot more like a background theme, in favour of the (perhaps more interesting) politics and character focus.

Thoughts?

Too much cock, even for HBO. They are going out of their way to push every character’s sex life because they can’t come up with a compelling or consistent enough business story.

Final episode yesterday, major changes, noticed that the tones has changed in season 3, especially the final four episodes.

You really need to rewatch the show because the details are there but you have to rewatch to capture the reasons. Yazmin, said : I have no memory of ever loving you”. Also, you missed out on understanding daughter and father characters and motivations. The reason why I like this show is because several things ate happening all at the same time. Otto and Rishi fir example.

No, it's still garbage on par with the worst seasons of Billions.

"If you don't have any enemies in life you have never stood up for anything" - Winston Churchill | "It's a testament to the sheer belligerence of the profession that people would rather argue about the 'risk-adjusted returns' of using inferior tooth cleaning methods." - kellycriterion

But you are supposed to watch this differently because its not billions or sucession. Secondly, its a different angle of the finance world. It not a great show but good enough to keep me engaged.

It looks official that season 4 and 5, shall exist but major changes from season 3, episode 8, shall make major tones changes moving forward.

Gonna bring myself to watch it since Season 2 was an improvement but not the best TV I've seen
