Was Bruce Wayne (Batman) considered a finance bro?
Off-Topic but always thought of this. Been a huge Batman fan all my life and after watching the Bale Movies multiple times, always wondered if he portrayed that persona during the day. Wanted to hear all thoughts.
Bruce Wayne, as portrayed in the Bale movies, definitely had some "finance bro" vibes during his public persona. He was the billionaire playboy CEO of Wayne Enterprises, a massive conglomerate with significant financial and technological influence. His daytime persona was all about projecting wealth, charm, and a carefree attitude—classic traits often associated with the finance bro stereotype.
However, Bruce Wayne's character goes deeper. While he might appear to fit the mold of a finance bro on the surface, his true focus was on using his resources for the greater good, whether through philanthropy or his alter ego, Batman. So, while he might have played the part of a finance bro to maintain his cover, his motivations and actions were far removed from the stereotype.
In short, Bruce Wayne was more of a "finance bro in disguise" than the real deal.

No, he's old money rich. He never worked in any sort of finance role nor did he personally build a multinational conglomerate across multiple industries, his family did over multiple generations and he inherited most of it. Their origins are in real estate which I suppose you could argue is tangential to finance (def not synonymous) but they don't like have a "Wayne Banking" or "Wayne Finance" division so I don't think it applies. 100% correct per cannon. As PT said, the money is family money. It would be like a Rockefeller getting a corner office in Room 5600. No s---. Is anybody going to tell you that you're not getting that office unless you're a massive f---up? It's your family's skin in the game.
Is it really from real estate? I was under the impression that they were some kind of industrial tycoons, maybe chemicals or heavy machinery.
EDIT: damn, didn't know the Wayne family is descended from Sir Gawain of the round table in-universe.
Yes it got started in real state and expanded into industrials during the industrialization revolution. The Wayne family owned a lot of the land that eventually became Gotham which is why they were such prominent members of the city elite. A lot of this gets unveiled in the Court of Owls series when you find out it's an oligarchy of elite families that have largely controlled the goings on of Gotham for over a century.
