WFH when things get back to normal?

Hey guys, I’m an incoming IB analyst and was looking to invest in a decent desk setup at my apartment. Assuming we return to working in the office later this year, I was curious how often you guys actually do work at home? For example, if you get assigned work on the weekend, would you head to the office or were you able to do it at home? Having a virtual internship this summer didn’t really do me any favors either so I would really appreciate any insight. Thanks in advance.

My company is probably doing WFH until the end of the year in LO AM. People at my company have been super happy about WFH since a lot of people commute from far away (i.e. over an hour) to work every day. Many people find this to be very relieving and I think this will allow for continued weekend work at home.

A close friend of mine at a GS/MS/JP in NY says that he thinks his company will be full time at the office Mon-Thurs and that Fridays and Weekends will be mostly done WFH at least for remainder of 2021. That's all up the company and when people start to go back though. I'm not in IB, so I'm not certain what your firm will do myself though.
